Evaluation

From Text "YEAR INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FOR ALL"

1) Make a summary thereof

2) Answer the following questions
a) why it is important to make limited use of energy resources?
b) Discuss the projects that are being implemented?
c) what are the new proposals of the countries?

3) State your position to agree or disagree in the following sentence:
"At the level of individual commitment and high impact opportunities, you have to set your own goals to track your progress. Such monitoring should also designed to inform the monitoring of progress at Action Area to assess if sufficient progress is being made in relation to the potential contribution of each area of action.
Attacked progress help stimulate dialogue and renew the debate about the pace and magnitude of change. Also provide a basis for the periodic updating of the Action Agenda to guide the initiative, which is very much a living and evolving document. The results of the overall evaluation will allow participants and other stakeholders to review the Programme of Action and to refine and target their priorities to meet changing needs in the national and global levels, helping to ensure that the initiative is still relevant and effective from now until 2030 "

International Year of Sustainable Energy for All

Tracking Progress

All stakeholders must be able to assess the results of the actions and commitments being undertaken in support of achieving Sustainable Energy For All. At the same time, and more importantly, tracking progress towards the initiative's three objectives—energy access, rate of energy efficiency improvement, and share of renewables —is needed so that it is clear where the initiative stands, how much remains to be accomplished, how individual actions are contributing, and where more action is needed.
Such assessment should be carried out at two levels:
  • At the global level, disparate analyses will need to be assembled and consolidated to assess the reach of energy access, the share of renewables, and the rate of improvement of energy efficiency to assess whether the world is on track to achieve the objectives of Sustainable Energy for All. The Sustainable Energy for All initiative will develop a Global Baseline Report to provide a succinct overview on the current state of progress towards the achievement of the three goals. It also aims to issue a global report to assess progress towards the three objectives of the Sustainable Energy for All annually.
  • At the level of individual commitments and high-impact opportunities, they will have to establish their own milestones to keep track of their progress. Such monitoring should be also designed to inform progress tracking at the Action Area level, to assess whether sufficient progress is being made relative to the potential contribution of each Action Area.
Tacking progress will help to prompt ongoing dialogue and renew debate about the pace and scale of change. It will also provide a basis for regularly updating the Action Agenda that guides the initiative, which is very much a living and evolving document. Results of the global assessment will enable participants and other stakeholders to revisit the Action Agenda and refine and steer its priorities to address changing needs at the national and global levels, helping to ensure that the initiative remain relevant and effective from now until 2030.
With this in mind, the Secretary-General's High-level Group has requested a Baseline Report be prepared to mark the end of 2012 as the International Year of Sustain¬able Energy for All. For more information on the Baseline Report, please click here.
Please revisit this page and sign up to receive updates to follow how Sustainable Energy for All will advance tracking progress.

Interactive Periodic Table

A great tool to include in our classes!

Environmental Education

Educating our students on issues related to the care of the environment is essential to form responsible citizens!
The video is for a project in school No 43 in Montevideo based on recycling, hope you like it!

Study Skills

Study techniques to organize the information in order to generate robust and meaningful learning over time. Therefore it is important that students master these tools, thereby enhancing their daily task. There are different study techniques, among which include concept mapping, creating summaries, underlining the relevant segments of text, building outlines, among many others.
It is necessary for us to provide these techniques to our students!

Troubleshooting experimental problems in chemistry: An alternative to traditional practices, JM Merino and Ferrero-

Experimental activities as tools for learning content and procedures. The author calls them open pilot activities implemented in secondary schools
In science teaching approach involves three disciplines of education: conceptual, procedural (a set of procedures of science whose acquisition is part of the objectives of the curriculum) and attitudinal (set of attitudes to be adopted by the student is part of the objectives educational curriculum)
General objectives are promoted in the curriculum:
  Develop scientific curiosity
  Adopt critical and non-dogmatic attitude
Gain respect for logical argument and developing such habits of a scientific reasoning.

For two decades, questions the use of experimental activities.
Factors contributing to failure of the experimental activities in secondary
- Disproportion between the perceptions of students and teachers regarding the purpose of a laboratory or activity
- Current laboratory activities do not allow students to solve problems through which knowledge is constructed.
- Little lab activity
- Students do not have opportunities for reflection and review
Study is the investigation of three dimensions:
) Conception is of teachers with respect to the experimental activities
II) conception held by students about the scientific method
III) design that transfers the literature

About Ausubel´s theory

I agree with the theory of Ausubel, advance organizers are tools that teachers always used to contribute to the student learning
